E-6 / Slide Film Processing   |   Duplicate Slides   |   Hours/Processing Schedule

E-6 Processing (35mm Slides, Medium Format and Sheet Film)

We have long been known for our superior slide and transparency processing services. Our Refrema dip and dunk processing equipment allows us to process film with unrivaled quality and a quick turnaround. We process 35mm slide film (except Kodachrome - see below) with the same care as medium format (120, 220) and 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 sheet film. Slide mounts are plastic and can be imprinted with your name, copyright, or other information. Upon request, we can store your imprint for future orders.

We can push and pull process all E-6 films in virtually any increment with the same turnaround times as our normal processing. We also offer snip/clip tests from either end of the roll and whatever length you specify. Upon request, we can cross-process E-6 to C-41 and vice versa.

Rush services are available at an additional charge. For more information on prices, click here or contact us directly.

Local customers please note walk-in prices are higher than online prices; call for quotes.

Explanation of Terms: E-6 is the chemical process used to process most slide film made today. This includes Ektachrome, Elite Chrome, Fujichrome, and several others. This does not include Kodachrome. Kodachrome is a K-14 process. To our knowledge, there is only one lab left in North America that processes this film. For more information go to www.kodak.com and enter “Kodachrome” in the search field.

Film is pushed or pulled by increasing or decreasing the development time in the first developer in order to compensate for over or under exposure or create special effects. Pushing (over development) causes the film to be lighter and pulling (underdevelopment) makes it darker.

To clip (or snip) means to process a piece of a roll of film to determine whether the rest of the roll should be pushed or pulled. The standard clip for a 35mm roll is 4-5 frames from the front. A standard medium format clip is 1 - 2 frames from the front, however, we can do anything you like.

Cross-processing is processing one type of film in another type of chemistry, such as processing C-41 negative film in E-6 chemistry.

Duplicate Slides

Our duplicate slides are the best way possible to achieve accurate color and density matches to your E-6 film originals. And we will accomodate nearly any cropping and color/density correction needs upon specification.

We make exceptional duplicate slides using Kodak E-Dupe film. We can also make duplicate 35mm reduction slides from 120 and 4x5 film. In addition, we make medium and large format duplicate transparencies from 120, 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 film. Normal turnaround for duplicates is 3 business days. However, rush services may be available for an additional charge. For more information on prices, click here or contact us directly.
